BRAND NEW GMC 6.2 L87 CU8 ENGINE

GMC’s 6.2-liter V-8 is getting some changes as well! New for the 2024 model is an available active exhaust system for the SLT, Denali, Denali Ultimate, AT 4 and AT4X. Thanks to engineering, a throatier exhaust note for drivers is realized and is brought forth through the different driving modes. Those are “Normal, Tow/Haul and Sport.” Besides this, no other output availability changes were noted for either the 5.3-liter or the 6.2-liter V-8 engines.

L87 Engine Characteristics

The L87 is a naturally aspirated, small-block, 6.2-liter V8 engine. It uses direct injection technology, meaning fuel is shot directly into the combustion chamber.
